This radio is the bomb! I bought two. They both came in at 4 watts full power. The ANL/NB is the best I have used on any cb radio, and is far superior to some amateur rigs. The LCD Display is better than my Ranger 2950DX, you can see better from the side. Cobra must have thought about this when the software was made.I have found one minor bug in the software and that is when you check SWR, you have to let up off the PTT swith on your mic and manually hit swr button then key down again. The receiver has a large and nice wide squelch gate, thats makes the scanning of channels much better than before. the new controls are nice and very modern, very Cobra! This radio is wellbuilt and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. The tone on the receive is nice but not as good as the 148 GTL. Talkback works very nice with the radios internal talkback speaker. Just READ the manual, the radios menues and button operations is much more modern and high tech than ANY PREVIOUS VERSIONS of Cobra cb radios.Sparkys did a great job getting this collectors edition out to the public early. The weather section of the radio works great,although I have not traveled with it yet.Job well done Cobra. Happy 50th Birthday!

Got mine from Sparky's with their standard tune for Christmas. Can't speak about longevity yet, but "Phillipine" Cobra 29-type performance so far. I'm very happy, audio is clean and loud. Everyone mentions the upgraded receive section, and it certainly shows in use. Also, Weather band reception is excellent.
The only drawback is the radio will constantly draw some power, even when powered off, so if hardwiring, be sure to get in on an unpowered circuit when your vehicle is off, or add an in-line power switch, or you may find your battery weak.

I purched this radio not from sparkeys it is the worst radio I ever had. It needs to be tuned and alinged my mistakeI will never buy another cobra radio again .
