The Astatic Road Devil is an amplified microphone for close talking, handheld applications in CB and Amateur Radio Communications. The Road Devil features a High Gain, Adjustable Amplifier that provide maximum Talk Power and intelligibility even under the most noisy operating conditions. 6 wire cable makes it compatable with just about any radio on the market past and present. Uses a 9 volt battery.

Audio power to spare !

This mic is powerful !!! and noise canceling !
I have tried a few other power mics on todays market (Turner power mics are sorely missed)
This is the one that has punch to spare and wont sound like your in a wind tunnel.

Sounds great in the truck on a Galaxy DX 959 with a 2290 mod. For those who are wondering if the electonics will go into a 636L microphone case, yes. I am not sure on the regular 636L but the Silver/Special Edition and Stars n' Stripes it will. It will take a little work!

I have owned the red and black models. They do not hold up to daily use. May be it was the time period of poor components, don't know. But they sound pretty good and design pretty good. Due to the failure rate, not Bulldog Approved :-(

Great price, color, and performance. Make sure you keep it turned down if you have your radio peaked and tuned. Just distorts the sound if you crank it up. Battery goes dead also. Super mic but for the money you cant beat a SkyThumper.
