ok got my meter from sparky and testing the 2 meter...it is about 2 which is my fault cause I trimmed too much...but anyway i key up and it keys 2 and then slowly goes into the red and then slowly comes back down....got me confused

no i called sparky and told him what i was doing and it was 2 meter and he set me up with this meter. i do know i was getting bad readings and the was a tab in the antenna base the contacts the magnent mount it wasnt pulled down far enough but the readings got good after i did that..it keys fine but if you hold it down for say 30 seconds or more maybe more like 45 but it keys 2 and the very slowly goes way up and then slowly back down and stays there

kinda can't the connection thing i told you about wasn't figured out till i had trimmed too much off so 2 is the best i can do till i get a new whip or another antenna
