Anyone know (1)if it's possible to get a 'Back-Lighted Front Panel for the Superstar SS-158 EDX? (2) How does the 'RF Limited XTR-2018 Xtreme Echo Mic work on the 'Superstar SS-158 EDX 10 Meter SSB Mobile Radio? Plus, (3) Does Sparky have one of 'his' amps that push the Superstar SS-158? Thank you for your input...---------- .."Free men do not ask permission to bear arms".. ..My wheelchair can go from 0 to 6 in 2.7 seconds.. ..I'm 'not' a total idiot yet - some parts are still on 'back-order'..

1) Anything is possible, depending on how fat your wallet is. Possible doesn't always mean feasible or econmical. 2) The 2018 would be a good choice for that radio 3) I wouldn't reccomend pushing any amp into a radio but I'm sure Sparky carries something for the 158 to push into ---------- My Mudduck Station

I'll add this from my own experience.....IF you do get an amp to run with you SS 158EDX do not plan on using the pre-amp if the amp comes with one......For some reason(Al can explain)The Mosfet finals will make your recieve hang on the radio if a pre-amp is being used.....Thats my experience with this radio and a TS-399. But all works well if the pre-amp is off.
