Is there anything else I can do to get rid of this sparatic noise. It's getting really annoying because I'm having to keep adjusting my squelch. It's coming in from the antenna system. I've already put graphite in all hubs, both truck and trailer. It did help alittle. I'm in a mack ch600, skythumper antenna, beldon coax, and a spark tuned GL with both top gun mod and processor.

Some of the suggestions in this article might help you find and solve your problem: Noise Identification (http://www.k0bg.com/noiseid.html).

What kind of noise are you hearing?

Just a guess but a static discharge coupler might get rid of that. Not sure what it could be by your discription.

It's basically road noise. I guess that's what you would call it. It's fine when you sit still but once you get going it's there. Normally I run my squelch at around 12 o clock. Once I start rollin', I'll keep turnin' the squelch to the right until I can't hear it anymore. Once it stops, squelch is about 3\4 of the way up. It's just getting really annoying having to keep adjusting my squelch all the time.

Like I said earlier, I've put powdered graphite in the hubs. It worked for awhile, but now it's back. So I put alittle more in each hub. Gave it a couple days. Nope, not working.

I'll probably pick one of those up. For the ground wire, where would I ground it at? Would it be better to put it closer to the radio or the antenna? Thanks

you could alway's use a rubber strap with metel inside it, then bolt it to your differentials and have the strap drag on the ground(i believe most trucks stop sell these where there is CB Radios). you could also get 8ga wire freyed at one end crimp a lug to the other end and then bolt it to your mount, with the freyed end hanging past the vehicle but not touching the ground(this is ugly but it works). this should keep the static charges entering the antenna system.

it's your radial tires and the pavement causing the static. i bet when it rains you don't hear the noise.
