Bird Meter - Bird Watts

It's seems that I continually read about "bird watts", etc. I'm assuming that Bird is THE name in actually showing wattage, etc. Most places reference the Bird-43. Are these meters easily available? I haven't had a whole bunch of luck looking for them.

Bird Watt meters are probably the best you can buy. They sample RF power thru the airway inside a chamber inside the meter case without running thru any circuits, The end result is no signal loss from running thru a circuit board. For SWR measurement all you do is turn the element to reflected power and it will read how many watts are returned to your radio. All this is done thru a air sample chamber. NOTE: The setup can be expensive because all the plug in elements are gold plated, average cost for the elements is around $75.00 a piece.

They are the top of the line meter and the industry standard to which all others are measured. The Bird 43 is an RMS meter, the Bird 43P has the peak reading kit and shows peak swing wattage.
