Is there a way we could 'see' more?

We all know that whatever Sparky sells is of excellent quality and comes with Sparky's exceptional and personal warranty/guarantee.. I really think they'd be a significant increase of sales if we computer shoppers could actually 'see' all the products that Sparky's Shack has to offer? I know there's a lot more available for 'walk-in' buyers to see.. But for us 'on-line' shoppers, which is no-less than Nation wide, well, we just don't get a chance to see all of it.. Is there any way we can?

This is sincerely meant to be a 'compliment' to Sparky, his employees, his Shack, site members and his customers... ... wldgoos

Talking from experience it takes a lot of time and effort to post items on a web site. Depending on the type of program used. If his items come and go this may give false hopes. It would be nice to know on this site what other products he carries. I have seen the customer poll indicating people are interested in seeing more products. Other radio equipment sites do list there full inventory. But then again he is just a phone call away!

That would be great to see more stuff online, but like Bulldog said that might be hard to do. What I'd like to see would be some sort of menu of "add on's" that can be added to a radio that is being ordered over the internet. I know Sparky is just a phone call away, but this way it might lighten up some phone calls for him. Just thinking outloud.

I appriciate everyone's input. I would like to add the following;

We WILL be adding more to the website in terms of product.

True, other sites 'Show' more products. However, we don't offer anything for sale that is not in our warehouse or store. Many online retailers depend on 'Drop shippers' to ship their stuff for them. What happens if the drop shipper is out of stock? The original merchant looks like an idiot because he accepted the customers order, charged his credit cardd, and now has to refund the customers card, contact the customer and explain it's out of stock, and in general look like a shitty operation.

If you think this doesn't happen, look around at some radio sites that still offer items that havn't been available for 8 months!!

I personally scour the net everyday. I know anybody who is anybody in this foolish business. We supply many online retailers with product through our wholesale division. For those of you that didn't know, we also have a wholesale division of Sparkys that supplies 48-50 small roadside CB Shops with merchandise. This website is only a VERY small part, but very important part of our business.

With the viotility of the import market, many, many, many items that are produced overseas (94% of the merchandise in this industry) are experiencing very long import times due to diesel fuel prices. Cargo ships that used to sail from China with half a load stay in port until the plants have a full load ready to export to the USA.

Currently with the Olympics in China the goverment of China has mandated certain plants to shut down several days a week to help with smog issues for the olympics. What does this mean fot the consumer in the USA?? Higher Prices and more out of stocks. Hopefully this will get better.

Sorry for rambling, but this is an overview of why we don't list everything in the world in the CB Business on our site. We have to have it before we offer it for sale...bottom line. Anything else would be dishonest and we don't do business in that manor.

As for adding 'Options' on the website for new radios, we won't do it and this is why;

Everyone has their own preferences as to what they want done to their radio. For example...you buy a Galaxy DX-919 and you want an echo board installed. Great, we'll be happy to do it. BUT..I want to talk to you on the phone and tell you that by doing so, the Galaxy 2 Year Warranty is VOID. No matter if the failure of the radio has NOTHING to do with the echo board. This is just an example, but I hope you'll see my point.

The Cobra High Power radios we do, we warranty because we are drastically changing the circuitry in them..these are the exception.

I refuse to do a 'Generalized' modification 'Menu' for the reasons of the example shown above. We take great pride in our work, and handle all mods or custom builds on a case by case basis...and it's done RIGHT!!

From the bottom of my heart I deeply value each and every customer and their business. However, if it's a web based only relationship with drop down menus you wish, there are many otehr online sites in which to puchase from. I only hope they will be there with support after the sale.

Again, thanks for listining.

Thank you very much Sparky for letting us know the whole scope of things! There is certainly more than meets the eye when it comes to doing business.

I'll second what Sparky says about importing product and trying to keep items in stock. It doesn't take much now days
to increase lead times on imports, especially electronics. Weather, new Chinese labor laws, log jams at U.S.ports, upgrades in National Security causing havoc in Customs. A smart business man would only offer what he has in stock and, obviously, that includes Sparky. A good business is what he has and he protects the integrity of that business.

Yes, I can easily underestand problems with the quick 'turn-around' of products, shipping problems etc, but I didn't think things like the 'special' speakers or 'amps', and who knows what else, that is pretty much a 'Sparky's Made' product would be included in that catagory...

I was just hoping we could 'see more' so we could support him more by buying more from him and less from the 'other' guys...

Thanks anyway, I guess I'm too much into pro-advertising, especially when you sell, and 'back' super products...
