Has anyone heard of or used one of these? If they are half way decent I'd like to mount it on the side of my house on the highest peak. It's only 39 inches tall, so I'm hoping I can "hide" it from the home owners association. Thanks in advance for any help.

Yep has been made under many names, its not a really good antenna, but it will work for what you need, do an internet search on a dipole antenna, a lot of guys use them inside the house, or put them on the deck ect, call Al he may have them also, I think he has the workman too

Someone actually makes an antenna that's supposed to work inside the house. It was made for apartment dwellers, to be place in the room or the attic.

Search for "Firestik Indoor Base Station Antenna".

If you try a Dipole get a radiowavz i run one and have no problems at all. inverted V is the way to mount it for best skip and omni directional results.

Foosball-
Thanks for the info. I checked out the web site you listed. They have different lengths. What length do you have? Also where is yours mounted? I will be limited to mounting mine in the attic. Luckly I have enough room to do the inverted V. The attic is typical wood construction, so interference shouldn't be a problem. Thanks!

well since i only key up on AM or SSB i have the 11 Meter /CB Double Bazooka, these antennas are one band only.

I had mine inside my apartment and it work great but i wanted to mount it in an inverted V, so i mounted outside off the balcony.

I had it mounted in the horizontal T first hanging from the eave of the building and worked great but i found the inverted V was better and a few distant stations i talk to where 1.5db stronger.

the best things about the antenna is no TVI and no one knows i have an antenna mounted, good luck with your project.

I didn't go with workman because i had issues with a few of there products. besides there is something about wing nuts and ring terminals that just not seem like quality to me. you could make one of these antennas yourself but to take the guess work out it's easier to buy one.

Why don't you try rolling your own.The old saying is " a dipole is a dipole". If built correctly there should be no difference in performence between a store bought and a homebrew dipole. This link will walk you through the construction.
